MYSTERY JAM MONDAY PART 188

Welcome to the 188th edition of Phish.Net's Mystery Jam Monday! The winner will receive an MP3 download courtesy of our friends at LivePhish.com / Nugs.Net. To win, be the first person to identify the song and date of the mystery jam clip. Each person gets one guess per day, with the second “day” starting after I post the hint. A hint will be posted on Tuesday if necessary, with the answer to follow on Wednesday. Good luck!

Answer: This week's clip was taken from the 4/22/93 Stash. With his sixth win, @ucpete is now one away from becoming the fourth contestant to earn a pair of all-white Velcro sneakers and a one-way bus ticket to South Florida emeritus status.

pistilstamen You know you have heard a lot of Phish when you hear those 30 seconds (and probably well before the clip was through) and say "4/22/93 Stash!". Bravo kind sir!

MiguelSanchez While MJM was on hiatus, I had built it into my head that I was pretty good at this. Now that it's back, I'm starting to remember that I am not that good at it at all.

Good call @uctweezer. Well done sir.

Pretty much. I convince myself that I "should" know a lot of these jams, and then never have any idea. On the other hand, I rarely remember to check

Yeah, I had no clue on this other than I knew it was going to be something between '92 and '94. That doesn't really narrow it down.

I knew it was post-Roxy '93 because of Page's piano, and I thought '93 at first but didn't want to rule out '94. I thought may have been one of those whacked out Spring '93 Weekapaugs I heard when we did the 'paug jam chart, or *maybe* a crazy Bowie, but after a few more listens of the clip I realized it had to be Stash -- you can hear the final resolution coming just as this clip fades out. It reminded me so much of the 8/28/93 that it just had to be a '93 Stash. Then it was just a matter of poking around some '93 Stashes till I found it. There have only been a couple times where I heard and MJM and I immediately knew the jam and date... and this wasn't one of them.

Well, if there was a nerdier answer than "I knew it was the 4/22/93 Stash in 13 seconds" I think you hit it out of the park. ;)

I love the detective work required to solve these things. Page's piano is a big one. Mike's bass another. The sound of venue.

Congrats to the Warriors. I was drawn to you (Warrior fan) while I was living in Portland in that first round series the year Dallas won 60-some games. Just electric...a lot like Portland when it gets worked into a frenzy...but you have that very slight Raider fan/insanity that seems to lurk around A's games as well. Anyway, Curry has been one of my favorites since his sophomore year at Davidson when he killed it in the NCAA's. Love Green as well...what a fucking player that guy is.
